The Effects of Assertiveness Training on Nursing Student¢¥s Self Concept and Human Relations


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of assertiveness training on nursing student¢¥s self concept and human relations. Subjects for this study were fifty-two nursing students. Twenty-six nursing students in experimental group received assertiveness training but subject in control group did not received any treatment. Subjects in experimental group participated six times in training session for 3 weeks. Each session lasted for 60 to 150 minutes.
The effects of assertiveness training were assessed by Jung Won Siks Self Concept Scale and Korean version of Schlein & Guerneys Relationship Change Scale. In order to test statistical significance on effects of assertiveness training, t-test were applied to each score.
Following conclusions were derived from the reslets and the discussion.
1) Self concept score were not significantly different between experiment group and control group.
2) Relationship change score were not significantly different between experimental group and control group.
